Marc-Abelin-2The son and the grand-son of great French upholsterers, Marc Abelin was born to be a decorator.

As a childhe would listen to his grand-father recounting endless stories about the time when he was the director of the famous Maison Jansen in RomaBetween the ages of 5 and 10, Marc used to spend hours in the Château de Versailles next to his father who was renovating the room of the King and the room of the QueenAs a teenager, Marc was already designing imaginary worlds, drawing houses, pieces of furniture and towers which would then give rise to thousands of models.

In 2010, a
fter a twenty-year career in events management and financial medias, Marc Abelin decided to set up his own design agency.

Located by the Louvre, Marc Abelin Design et Décoration (M.A.D.D.) carries out interior architecture projects for private clients and produces exclusive pieces of furniture. A table desk, an enfiladea pair of wall lightingsmirror, a bedside tablesecretaire  in March 2014, M.A.D.D. launched a first collection of furniture, provoked by a photograph taken by the Chinese artist Liu Bo Lin and inspired by the form of the gold bar. This limited series, which is composed of 20 pieces – with eight copies each and made of black lacquer and gold leaf, reflects the spirit of its designer: chic, glamour and rock and roll.

Abelin like clean lines, perspectives and combining raw and precious materials, such as lacquer, stone, wood, metal, as well as the golden tints of the history of France which so fascinated him as a child.
